Cheesy Sausage Quiche

On Fridays at work we all indulge ourselves and order breakfast delivery. The past couple of weeks I have been ordering a slice of their quiche and it is just heavenly. But at 6.99 a slice it certainly is not wallet friendly! I can make a whole pie for less than that at home- so why not try?

Feel free to add whatever veggies/meats you like to your quiche. They are great for breakfast or brunch but you can also have quiche for a quick easy dinner with a side salad!


9 inch frozen pie shell (I used deep dish)
1/2 lb breakfast sausage
1/2 c onion, diced
2 T flour
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2/3 c milk
2 eggs
salt and pepper to taste

1. Preheat oven to 375*.
2. Prebake shell for 5-10 mins.
3. Meanwhile, brown sausage and onions. Drain. Add 2 t flour and stir around until flour is cooked. Remove from heat.
4. Beat 2 eggs with milk, add salt and pepper to taste. Remember that the sausage and cheese have a lot of salt in them already.
5. Place sausage in bottom of pie shell. Top with cheese. Pour egg mixture over. Place in oven and bake 30-40 mins until firm. If you did not use a deep dish pie crust, put a baking sheet under incase it overflows.
6. Remove from oven and let cool. Can be served warm or at room temperature.

Goes well with a mimosa!
